About project

This issue of commemorative medallions with motifs of five world religions is a unique project of global significance, which presents them for the first time as a group struck in precious metals.

The medallions were created by sculptor Ľudmila Cvengrošová, who received Slovakia’s national honour, the Order of  Ľudovít Štúr, in 2007.

These commemorative medallions on the World Religions form a mosaic of meaningfully and aesthetically harmonious motifs through the author's talent to conjure familiar and unexpected symbols and characteristic features of individual religions out of the small surface area, together with authentic titles in the corresponding letters and languages.

The medallions have been struck in two limited edition series, one from gold and one from silver.

The Kremnica Mint, where the medallions were struck, has operated for seven centuries and is one of the world’s top mints by many standards.

This unique collector’s edition of medallions represents
an outstanding treatment of the world’s religions
by sculptor Ľudmila Cvengrošová.
